Halloween costumes are fun, but spending money on something your kid wears for two hours? Not so much. We love finding creative ways to turn pieces already in their closets into costumes with just a few simple accessories. Here are six of our favorite ideas using Worthy Threads pieces that are just as cute on November 1 as they are on October 31.
Need some last minute Halloween costumes using every day pieces? We have you covered!
Seat belts, everyone! Our navy Constellation dress is practically begging to become a Ms. Frizzle costume. Add a wild red wig, colorful tights, red shoes, and a space-themed backpack. A toy school bus or stuffed lizard makes the perfect finishing touch. It's quirky, colorful, and such a fun choice for the kid who loves science, adventure, and standing out!

"In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines..." Our navy velvet dress is the perfect starting point for this classic storybook costume. Add a white Peter Pan collar, yellow straw hat with a black ribbon, white knee socks, and black Mary Janes. Finish with a little brown satchel or a Madeline doll. It's timeless, adorable, and one of those costumes that never goes out of style.

A tale as old as time, with a Worthy Threads twist! Our gorgeous gold velvet dress makes the perfect starting point for everyone's favorite book-loving princess. Add gold gloves, sparkly shoes, an elegant updo, and a favorite storybook. Bonus points for carrying a red rose! It's a little bit of Disney magic without the uncomfortable princess costume.

Everything is better in pink, especially Halloween! Turn our Hot Pink dress into the sweetest Pinkalicious costume with a sparkly crown, a star wand, pink tights, and matching Mary Janes. Add a little pink backpack for extra flair. It's colorful, whimsical, and perfect for the kid who believes there's no such thing as too much pink!

Ooh là là! Our orange coffee-and-croissant print dress practically created this costume idea for us. Add a little black beret, cream tights, black Mary Janes, and a mini baguette or croissant. A pretend takeaway coffee cup makes it even cuter. It's quirky, charming, and a little unexpected, which makes it one of our favorite Halloween looks this year!

Off to Neverland! Our hunter green lounge set makes the perfect base for a Peter Pan costume that's as comfortable as it is cute. Just add a green felt hat with a red feather, a brown belt, and little boots. A toy sword or Tinker Bell plush completes the look. The best part? Once Halloween is over, the cozy sweatsuit goes right back into their everyday rotation.
